Day 1 Belgrade
Arrival to Belgrade airport and
transfer to hotel. Accomodation and time for settle and relax.
Panoramic city sightseeing: Kalemegdan fortress (Military museum,
Roman Well, Monument to the Winner), The
Republic square, National Theater,
National Museum, Knez Mihajlova Street, National Assembly, St. Marko
Church. Return to the hotel. Afternoon free for peronal arrangement.
Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2 Belgrade – Sremski karlovci –
Novi Sad- Belgrade
Breakfast at hotel. Visit to the
Patriarchate of the Serbian Orthodox Church. After that, visit to
Saint Sava Temple one of the largest orthodox churches in the world.
Later on, departure to Sremski Karlovci (60 km distance from
Belgrade) and tour of the Old Patriarhate. Departure to Novi Sad.
Visit to Petrovaradin fortress. Lunch independent. Departure for
Fruška Gora with 16 medieval Serbian monasteries. Visit of the
monasteries Krushedol and Grgeteg. On the return to Belgrade a tour
of the Novo Hopovo monastery (16th century). Arrival to Belgrade.
Day 3 Belgrade – Oplenac – Ćuprija
– Kruševac – Vrnjačka Banja
After breakfast departure to Oplenac
(80 km distance from Belgrade). Sightseeing of the mausoleum of the
Karađorđević dynasty. After a short break in Oplenac departure to
Manasija monastery (15th century). Departure to Ravanica monastery
near Ćuprija from 14th century (prince Lazar is buried there). After
sightseeing departure to Kruševac. Visit to Lazarica Church. This
church was built in 14th century as an endowment of Prince Lazar of
Serbia. It belongs to the Morava School of architecture. Lunch at
independent. Later on, departure to the Ljubostinja monastery
(endowment of Princess Milica) and sightseeing. Departure to Vrnjačka
Banja spa. Accomodation in hotel. Dinner.
Day 4 Vrnjačka banja – Kraljevo –
Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Žiča,
an early 13th century Serbian orthodox monastery near Kraljevo. The
monastery was built by the first King of Serbia, Stefan the
First-Crowned and the first Head of Serbian Church, Saint Sava.
Continuation of the journey through the Ibar gorge to the Studenica
monastery, one of the largest and richest Serb Orthodox monasteries.
Stefan Nemanja founded it in 1190. Departure to Sopoćani monastery
(13th century) which is in UNESCO World Heritage List. The
monastery is endowment of Serbian King
Stefan Uroš. It was built near the springhead of the Raška river.
Walking tour about 30 minutes to the wellspring. Departure to Novi
Pazar. Lunch independent. Accomodation in hotel. Afternoon free for
personal arrangement. Dinner and overnihgt stay at hotel.
Day 5 Novi Pazar
Departure to Djurdjevi Stupovi
monastery, endowment of Stefan Nemanja. It is situated at the top of
a hill of volcanic orign. Departure to St. Petar and Pavle Church,
the oldest monument of ecclesiastrical
architecture in Serbia (9th or 10th
century). Lunch at independent in Novi Pazar. Dinner at hotel.
Day 6 Novi Pazar – Kopaonik -
Kuršumlija - Niš
After breakfast departure to mountain
Kopaonik (one of five national parks and the most popular ski resort
in Serbia). Free time for walking and sightseeing. Departure to St.
Nikola monastery in Kuršumlija (the oldest endowment of Stefan
Nemanja). It is located on a hill above the joining of the Banjska
and Toplica rivers. Lunch independent. Continuation of a journey
toward Niš. Arrival to Niš, accomodation in hotel. Time for
leisure. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 7 Niš
Breakfast at the hotel. Full
day in Niš with city tour. Lunch at independent. Dinner and the
goodbye party at the local restaurant with the folklore performance.
Return to hotel. Overnight.
Day 8 Niš – Beograd
free time till transfer to Belgrade/Niš airport. The price of the
package depends on the number of passangers. It is possible to modify
the program acording to the interest of the group.
